Better looking that Thatcher but more ruthless. Its not a fear its a fact. Although times are Dark, it has been Labour that took steps to stop a recession becoming a depression, the same steps then taken by other countries, and lauded as good economic sense. The Tories would have done the opposite and where would we have been now.
The Tory account of what they would have done to save the economy is unconvincing and their prescription for the future sounds unbeleiveably harsh. They want us to think we are all in it together with them, thats OK if we are all in the house behind the moat together, but unfortunately some of us are in the house and some of us are in the moat.
The Conservatives policies on cuts, especially cuts to public spending are outside the international consensus. They have aligned themselves with neo-fascists in Europe, those denying the holocaust, promoting homophobia, this isn’t some exaggeration, it really is true. Mr Cameron may appear all soft and cuddly but it seems their are shades of something darker beneath his soft jersey.
The kind of cuts the Torys want would choke any signs signs of economic recovery. While David Cameron and George Osborne wont tell us who will get the chop, we find the The Institute of Directors and TaxPayers’ Alliance have just produced a list of cuts for any future Tory government, which include the abolition of all Sure Start centres, the end of child benefit and the withdrawal of free travel for pensioners. And I just mention those three with the stress on include.
Cuddly Cameron is coming to a polling station near you very shortly, whose side will you be on?
